Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 29, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Yunseul (윤슬) collects when you use the Service, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using Yunseul, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information from your Google account — your email address, name, and profile picture — so we can create and identify your account.
- Content you create. The posts you write in Korean, the AI corrections generated for them, your reactions, scraps, and your profile details (such as a display name and avatar).
- Avatar images. If you upload a profile picture, we store the image with our image hosting provider.
- Cookies. We use a single session cookie (
session_token) to keep you signed in. See the Cookies section below.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- provide and operate the Service, including authenticating your account;
- generate AI corrections for your posts;
- power similarity search that helps you find example sentences and related writing;
- display your posts and corrections in the public feed and on public profiles; and
- maintain the security and integrity of the Service and prevent abuse.
4. Cookies
We use one essential cookie, session_token, to keep you signed in after you log in. It is required for the Service to function and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. Because it is strictly necessary, we do not show a cookie consent banner. If you block this cookie, you will not be able to stay logged in.
5. Third-party processors
We share limited information with the service providers below so they can process it on our behalf for the purposes described:
- Google — sign-in (OAuth). Google provides your basic profile information when you choose to sign in.
- OpenAI — AI corrections and text embeddings. The text of your posts is sent to OpenAI to generate corrections and to compute embeddings used for similarity search.
- Cloudflare Images — storage and delivery of profile avatar images.
These providers process your information only as needed to deliver their part of the Service. We do not sell your personal information.
6. Data retention
We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your associated personal data, except for anything we are required to keep to comply with the law or that has already been shared publicly within the community.
7. Your rights and account deletion
You can view and edit your profile information at any time. You can delete your account from your profile settings; deleting your account removes your personal data as described above. If you have questions about your information or want to exercise your rights, contact us at [email protected].
8. Children's privacy
Yunseul is not directed to children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 14 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
9. International users
Yunseul is operated with the help of service providers located in other countries, including the United States. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own, which may have different data protection rules.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and significant changes may be communicated through the Service. Your continued use of Yunseul after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
